Q.1.  Who was Edison and why was he taken out of school? एडिसन कौन था और उसे स्कूल से क्यों हटा दिया गया था ?

Ans. Edison was a famous American scientist who invented gramophone and electric light  He was taken out of school because his teacher thought him to be naughty and stupid.
एडिसन एक प्रसिद्ध अमेरिकन वैज्ञानिक था। जिसने ग्रामोफ़ोन ( ग्रामोफ़ोन एक ऐसा यंत्र है जिससे अपनी कही हुई आवाज को हम फिर से सुन सकते हैं ) तथा बिजली के बल्ब का आविस्कर किया था।  उसे स्कूल से इसलिए हटा दिया गया था क्योंकि उसकी अध्यापिका उसे नटखट (शैतान) तथा मूर्ख समझती थी। 


Q.2. How did Edison find his mother the best teacher for him? एडिसन ने अपनी माता को किस प्रकार अपनी अध्यापिका पाया ?

Ans. Edison found his mother the best teacher for him as she always tried to give a satisfactory answer to his question and was never tired of his question.
एडिसन ने अपनी माता को अपने लिए सबसे अच्छी अध्यापिका पाया क्योंकि वह सदैव उसके द्वारा पूछे गए प्रश्नों का संतोषजनक उत्तर देने का प्रयास करती थीं और उसके प्रश्नों से कभी भी परेशान नही होती थीं। 

Q.3. Why did Edison join the Railways and why was he dismissed from his job ?  एडिसन ने रेलवे की नौकरी करना क्यों आरम्भ किया तथा उसे कार्य से क्यों पृथक क्र दिया गया ?

Ans. Edison joined the railways because he needed money for buying books and carry on his experiments. He was dismissed from his job because fire broke out in the railway carriage due to his carelessness.
एडिसन ने रेलवे की नौकरी करना प्रारम्भ कर दिया क्योंकि उसे पुस्तकें खरीदने तथा अपने प्रयोगों को करने के लिए धन की आवश्यकता थी।  उसे कार्य मुक्त क्र दिया गया था क्योंकि उसकी असावधानी के कारण रेल के डिब्बे में आग लग गयी थी।  

Q.4. How did Edison’s father encourage him to read more books ?  
एडिसन के पिता ने उसे और अधिक पुस्तकें पढने के लिए किस प्रकार प्रोत्साहित किया ?
  
Ans. Edison was found of book reading. His father gave him twenty-five cents for every book he read to encourage his reading habit. With this pocket money he bought more books to read.
एडिसन पुस्तकें पढने का शौक़ीन था। उसके पिता उसकी पढने के आदत को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए उसे प्रत्येक उस पुस्तक को पढने के लिए 25 सेण्ट देते थें जो वह पढता था। एस जेबखर्च से वह पढने के लिए और अधिक पुस्तकें खरीदता था। 

Q.5. Why did the teacher think that Edison was stupid and naughty ?  अध्यापिका क्यों सोचती थी कि एडिसन मूर्ख तथा शैतान था ?

Ans. One day Edison’s teacher was teaching in the class. She said, “A thing can not fly unless it has wings”. Edison stood up and said, “Madam a kite has no wings, yet it flies”. So the teacher thought that he was stupid and naughty.
एक दिन एडिसन की अध्यापिका कक्षा में पढ़ा रही थीं।  उसने कहा, ” एक वस्तु पंखों के बिना उड़ नही सकती।” एडिसन खडा हो गया और बोला, ” मैडम, पतंग के पंख नही होते हैं फिर भी वह उड़ सकती है।” इसलिए उसकी अध्यापिका ने सोचा कि वह (एडिसन) मूर्ख और शैतान है।

Ans. Edison promised to the people of America that he would give them electric light in two years. He kept his promise by inventing electric bulb and lighting his laboratory on New Year’s Day, 1880.
एडिसन ने अमेरिका के लोगों को वचन दिया था कि वह दो साल में उन्हें बिजली का प्रकाश दे देगा।  उसने बिजली के बल्ब का आविष्कार करके और 1880 के नववर्ष दिवस पर अपनी प्रयोगशाला को प्रकाशित करके अपना वचन पूरा कर  दिया।
